Oromo is a group of Cushitic people, consisting 40% of the total Ethiopian population
and stretched and living on large land mass of the horn of Africa.
The Oromo were colonized during the last quarter of the 19th century by Abyssinia
with the help of the European colonial powers of the day. The colonization process
that brought about the present geographical shape of Ethiopia took the Abyssinians
nearly 40 years.

Legal Advocacy Program
The Legal Advocacy Program provides information, summary advice, and representation
to newcomers and refugees. The program aims to help newcomers deal more effectively
with the Kenyan government system, ensuring they are informed of their legal rights
and responsibilities. On top of these will provide Multi-lingual Services where it
is necessary.
The Legal Advocacy programme undertakes a number of programmes on exceptional areas
of concern to refugees and asylum seekers on board including the following sub programmes
listed below.
